Talking Hello to all! How are you guys?

Well to start off with I'm from southeast Louisiana and I have just purchase an 07' F-250 6.0L that I'd like to make some noise with. I work for PPG industries and occasionally run our engines in the refinery. I mention to a co-worker the other day that I wanted to some train horns for my new truck. He then informed me the he had taken some horns from one of PPG's pre WW2 engines prior to the engine being replaced with a newer engine. I will get some details after work today and some pics. If y'all are interested? Basically some of you gurus could share some knowledge and let me know what I'll need to get these horns going and blowing. Thanks in advance for any and all advise, and I'm glad I found this site!

Welcome. Everyone here likes to see pics.

Check Hornblasters for kits with and without horns. That way you'll have an idea of costs. Maybe you'll get lucky and get some horns from work too.

Cool P series.

Depending on how old and how collectable it is, you might want to be careful about how you restore it. For instance no sandblasting which would alter the base metal - only chemical strip.

The guys on Hornwhistleboard would know more if it's worth being uber careful.

Yeah good job. They look better than new. Did you replace any internals?

Thank you! No I sure didn't. I was going to but I called one of the venders and for the gaskets and diaphragm was $92. I just couldnt see spending that much on six gaskets and 3 diaphragms. I think I can get them made here locally. Please check out my other post and posiably point me in the right direction.
