I would really like a lifetime warranty though. ATleast on the horns which is the most expensive
Would anyone really give you a lifetime warranty on Nathan horns? I am not sure.
I know Hornblasters offer that kind of warranty on their Shockers… but not quite sure on Nathans and not sure about other sellers.
Nathan horns have some pieces which need to be changed after many years, like the silicon ring between diaphragms, the diaphragms and the o-ring around the air hole.
I don’t think replacing those worn elements would be covered by any warranty… but i may be wrong.
In that specific case you are right to demand a lifetime warranty for a few bucks more.
Just trying to advise
No i understand, thats what im here for to get the most advise possible before i buy my setup. In the past i didnt listen to anyones advise and now im stuck with a chrome china setup that cost me 500 installed. Trust me im like a sponge just soaking up info and then one day i can pass it on to someone else.
It’s good to begin from little things and then upgrade till reaching the top.
I began with a 1510 firetruck horn and a cheap compressor… then i decided to upgrade.
Just yesterday i received a double compressor which is rated max 150psi… today kept it charging for a while… i almost reached 200psi with a 4gals tank.
Just decide which horn you want (K3 or K5), then keep in mind how much you need for the repair kits i mentioned you before, and search on ebay.
Add the price for the required kits and see if it’s a deal. Then buy the horns you have found, and if you’re lucky enough maybe you won’t need to rebuild them and you may save something.
The way i see it is the more you save, the more you have to spend on other things.
For example one of my goals (and maybe one of my next purchases) is the blue digital pressure gauge.
AWESOME!!!
The kit that i had in mind was this one http://www.jacksonsperformanceproducts.net/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=26 Its a good price and it come with everything. Its a restored k3 done by a forum member on here i think his name is CURT S. Ive seen throughout the forums that hes awesome at his job. Also at that price you cant beat it.
And that blue gauge would be a great addition to your setup might get one myself in the future too once i get everything installed
can always buy the k5 and if u want to sound like a k3, unbolt 2 of the horns and plug up the holes…haha
I haven’t bought anything (yet) from Curt but i’ve seen his works and i can say i’ve never seen something like that. He is clean and honest. Why don’t you buy directly from him?
Well by what im seeing he restores the horns and then the owner of the place sells them along with air kits. So in a way i would be buying from him. Anyone know how much it cost to powdercoat the horns and paint them black? like an estimate, K3la btw
Reconditioned Nathan horns, are just as good, if not better then new ones, some have all stainless bolts put in, horns tuned to proper cord…And if you can get em at a fair price…even better:D
