I wouldn’t buy a used tank either, just because you don’t know how long it’s been used. They have a limited life anyways, and for 85 bucks I’d buy a new one from HB just so I had piece of mind.
My 2 cents, YMMV.

I agree, new tanks are cheap enough.
So I got the kit from the guy. The tanks in excellent shape, just wrapped with a thick rubber padding to keep it quiet when on the frame. The compressor will turn on when connected to a battery, but I dont really know how to test if its working. It is pushing some air out of the hose, but im new to this side of things and dont really know where to start.
Make sure the compressor is controlled by a relay and pressure switch, connect it to the tank, put a tank gauge in one port and plug the rest. Start the compressor and watch the gauge. If the pressure gets to the maximum rating of the compressor and doesn’t shut off automatically, then stop it manually. The pressure switch could be bad, needs adjusting, or has the wrong start/stop settings.
Lol I ment the compressor turns on it just doesnt pump air. Took all apart and the compressors piston ring is bad, which scared the walls. I found a replacment cylinder wall and piston for $88. Ordered today :).
While I’m waiting on my compressor parts to get here decided to clean/paint. Here’s a sneak peak lol.

Time to get a real compressor instead of those fake ones that use nylon pistons. I’m surprised the don’t wear out more often.
Post pics again when you have them painted inside and out. Looks good so far unless your painting them black…LOL
Haha all in due time my friend. A oasis compressor is on my to do list. Just after amp powersteps and 4.88 gear swap.
