1 set not going off....

I have two sets of Outlaw horns under my truck fed by two Viair 444c pumps into a 6 gallon tank.
Both ground wires for the horns are together and grounded good, both air valves are wired to one toggle switch.

Problem is that when I’m at 200psi only one set goes off until air pressure drops to about 140, then both will go off.
What would make the second set only go off at lower pressure? What can I do to fix it?

If they share the same pressure switch then it might have something to do with its check valve.

Pressure switch on my tank? It’s 200psi switch and is brand new.

What pressure are the valve rated at? Sounds like it could possibly be that the pressure is to much and holding one of the valves closed???

Tech support at Horn blasters said the horns are rated at 150psi and suggested to put a 150psi pressure switch in instead of my 200psi.

You can use the 200 pressure switch if you put a pressure regulator on the tank’s output and set it for 150psi

Thanks Dan.

Ding! More honk time.

Quick question about the regulator, the one HB sells, it only has 1/4npt connections, will that not cut down and restrict the 1/2" airline?

I didn’t know HB had a regulator. I bought a 1/4" Viair regulator for running air tools, but I bought a 1/2" high flow regulator for the horns.

Since Mr. earthdog has 2 horns, a high flow regulator would be a good idea.
Since Mr. Stinky has a K5, a high flow regulator would be an excellent idea!

Hey E2E… Sounds like mr.stinky might be looking for a high flow 1/2" regulator lol:D

Here’s the HB one.

That is the Viair that I have. I put a male QD on the inlet & female QD on the outlet. I just hook it to an air hose when using tools or filling tires.

Thank you E2E, interesting little bedtime reading! I am on the hunt now!

It’s those kind of applications that make Oasis compressors a better option! Think how quickly you can do other things.

This is true, maybe one day Dan:D
