150psi Question!

I’m running a 200 PSI air system for my air ride, I want to regulate my Shocked XLs down to 150 PSI. Can I use a 150 PSI regulator or do I have to use a 200 and turn it down?

I have a viair 380c (200psi) , with a 150 psi pressure switch on it… I prefer this setup as i get the 100% duty, and can push this single compressor to fill 10 gallons of air… Note: this will void the warranty (more than 5 gallons per compressor) but ive had this for at least 3 years now and its fighting like a champ!

I fill my tank to 200 PSI is what I mean.

Yes, then if you want to keep more pressure in the tank, and less to the horns, you would have to use a regulator…

You need a regulator capable of 200psi inlet pressure.

I’m getting a McMaster 4959K303.
1/2"NPT. 300psi Max. 10-250psi regulating range. Also flows 225cfm. 59 bux.

Nice, thats what I needed to know! I figured that was the case, but I was going to rule out my local options before I ordered online. Looks like I will be ordering the Viair one from Hornblasters soon!

The viair one from hornblasters has a 1/4 in NPT inlet port…you need one that is big enough to fit the air line you are using. If it’s 3/8 inches or 1/2 inches that viair one is not enough.

I’ll need 1/2" then, I’ll do my research and place an order then. Thanks guys!

ear2ear, are you ordering yours offline? If so do you have a link?

I’m ordering right from mcmaster dot com because I need a few things.
4959K303 and 4910K98 bracket

Thanks!

McMaster-Carr and Grainger carry them.
