Just thought I’d share my installation. I’ll let the video do the explaining. The reason they ended up on the roof is because there really weren’t any good locations under the car to mount them. Since this video was created, I added a quick-connect coupler to the tank with a manual valve so that I can run air tools and stuff (came in handy when I was trying to remove the axle nut on a friend’s Silverado.)
Overall I am very pleased. “Loud” is an understatement. “Hilarious” would be more appropriate
I honestly don’t use them to scare people unless it’s someone I know, but I must say they are incredibly effective at stopping people from doing stupid things on the road. In other words, if someone starts moving over onto you, or starts to pull out in front of you, you honk these things and they STOP.
Let’s not forget… “Thanks very much to Stephanie’s mum”. Gotta love it! Sounds like Shocker XL setup. Nicely done man and a hearty welcome to the forum.
Have a look under your front bumper bar. You’d be surprised how many hidy-holes you find for mounting the Shockers. Heck… if you can put them into a Smart you can put 'em anywhere.
I originally had a set of Hella Air Chimes mounted ahead of the radiator, and that was where I had planned to mount this set. Wouldn’t have been too much of an issue if not for the longest of the trumpets, which is huge. There looks like there’s a lot of space in there until you try to jam four trumpets in that area.
I’m sure it can be done, and since I plan on acquiring an identical car in the near future, which I will be fully tearing apart for a “sleeper” build, I intend on solving this problem
Haha, there is no '70 Stang. Just my idea of a cool username when I was younger and I’ve just stuck with it since then because it’s generally not taken, lol.
