Well, after about a year of having these horns and parting everything together, shes finally done, kinda. I also have 2, 3 gallon tanks im gonna use as a 6 gallon reservoir i still need to get on there.
On to the specs:
2007 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ ext cab
Nathan K3LA
125cf Nitrogen Cylinder
1/2 air line
Harris Regulator set at 150 psi
HornBlasters Shocker 1/2 fast valve
Moroso Dry Sump Oil Tank Mounting Clamps
Homeade horn bracket
I need to figure out the leak im having, its about to piss me off, an cost me a nitrogen refill.
Im gonna have a quick disconnect fitting on the tanks, when I get them on, so I will be able to fill my tires and air shocks with nitrogen…
ENJOI
Got pantyhose??
Can u see the horn button??
Nice an clean…
Shes a little dirty…
The 2, 3 Gallon tanks im gonna mount on top of the cylinder.
They are gonna be my storage tanks. The regulator I have is a 5/16 outlet, and cant keep up with the air comsumption of the horns. It will honk good for about 2 seconds and then loses pressure and sounds like poop. The tanks have 1/2 outlets, so Ill have 6 gallons of unrestricted 150psi nitrogen.
^^ Pressure relief valves have a maximum flow rate.
It would do it’s job for a moderate leak/failure. But there is a point that the safety valve couldn’t keep up.
Also, it is possible to have enough compressors that could add air to the tank faster than the safety valve can dump it out.
You can check your system by running your compressors and pull the safety valve. Watch your gauge and the pressure should be going down. If it’s still going up (albeit not as fast), the system needs multiple relief valves.
The tank mounts are very strong pieces, (billet aluminum base, w/ superior hardware) they have the tank locked down very securly, the tank is NOT going anywhere.
The panty hose are my dust covers, Im not gonna spend 50 bucks on the ones from hornblasters…
