^“Adjustment” of the OEM front crash bar. Thank you plasma cutter!
Now, I have to get the horns powder coated flat black and fit in a 2008 front grill and/or take out the OEM plastic “mesh”. The air fitting is 1/4" too high to fit the OEM grill back on there. I have to fit a second 400c in on the 5 gallon tank. I’ve really have a whole new trunk to construct. Three class D amps going in and a brand new processor…the factory programmer for the processor and I are talking and it seems that I’ll be what is basically a beta tester for this piece. Oh yeah, all new 3 way speakers as well.
…I’ll make it work…
^The horn wasn’t as loud as it could have been due to four leaks that I just found this afternoon.
There will be more pics as I re-work the entire trunk area. This should prove to be a really neat project overall.
I was about to say “By George, he’s done it!”. Close… very close. Good work none the less. I reckon take the bells off the manifold and consider either buying or making your own mounts. It’s going to give you that little bit of extra clearance you’ll need.
DBO- thank YOU for the idea of taking the bumper off. I was scuuuured because I thought the crash sensor was actually ON the bumper bar. Apparently it’s on the frame connector behind the bumper.
Before I go to all the trouble making my own mounts, I want to try to find a lower profile coupler/fitting. That may or may not happen. We’ll see. In the mean time I’ll have some looks of of, WTF is THAT on the car, when people notice the contrast between the dark car and the light horns.
…If I go to that, I’ll take it a step further and do what I did for my speaker wiring. I’ll use Techflex with a design on it for recognition and heat shrink the ends.
