200psi

will this much pressaure hurt a set of P5’s of K5’s? I run that much for my airbags and wonder if i should use a regulator. Also which setup should I go with?

You’ll hurt them, so definitely use a regulator. McMaster-Carr has a good one that quite a few folks use on here, just do a search for it.

Which setup were you looking at?

Some people run them @ 200psi and love em… But the cushions / diaphragms will suffer and you will rebuilding soon. I believe trains run there horns between 100-120 psi only… Difference is the volume of air . Thats why they usually sound stronger on a train.

High pressure also distorts the sound. Use an adjustable regulator and set the pressure that sounds best to you.

I just installed a high flow regulator from McMaster Carr and I’m very pleased with the results. My K3 sounds less harsh now.
