Ok Here’s the issue.
I’ve had the Nathan K5LA horn for over 17 years. First it was installed on my 1989 Caprice Classic, Then I installed them on my 2012 Tahoe Z71 where they still are installed. Before HornBlasters began selling the individual bell mounting brackets, I had them installed as to keep the horns “hidden”. On the Caprice it was two behind the grill and three in the rear. on the Tahoe it’s two up front, and three mounted under the rear, with the compressor under the hood where the other battery would go and the tank where the spare tire would be. On my Silverado, I’m not seeing many mounting options. There’s no space under the hood for the compressor, and the spare tire delete kit does NOT work with these horns. It’s as if Hornblasters stopped making items for this horn because I g guess it’s too expensive. But if you want the real deal then you pay for it huh.
Anyhow, I’m thinking of having a bar fabricated that goes across the radiator and bolts into the factory location and mounting all five hours firing down behind the grille.
Has anyone installed any K5LA’s on a Silverado? If so, where the hell did you mount everything?
