228VX Compressor relocation?

I got a 228VX classic kit, I installed the unit in my trunk, (not real trunk its a Jeep Grand cherokee). SO its all open and when the unit kicks in its pretty annoying.

Can I just unbolt the compressor and relocated it under the truck (Not gonna be where rain can come in contact with it) and buy a new braided extension hose and lengten the power wire also? Anyone did that?

thanks

Why not fabricate an enclosure for the tank? Should be as simple as making a box.

I tought about it , but it will problly be as loud.Tough of making one and cover the inside with carpet and outside also to cover up the noise.

Could be an option , but was wondering if I could relocate it with a longer hose without damaging or interfering with anything

You should be able to with minimal issues, just plan it before you move anything and have the replacement pieces onhand to make it go quicker.

I have my compressor inside my trunk which only has a very light, loose plastic cover and it makes a world’s difference. Goes from stupid loud to bearable. I’m pretty sure if a simple box was made for it, it would be even quieter.
