I have a 400c with a 2 gallon tank. My question is, how big of a tank can I go without burning my pump up?? I just ordered a Air Zenith digital gauge and cant wait to install it. I bought it because my pump ran for about 7 minutes one morning where it was 19 degrees. I must of had ice in the check valve?? Also can I put like a cap full of antifreeze in the tank without harming the compressor?? Thanks to everyone that responds! I need all the info I can get. Thanks!
Each compressor is good for up to 5 gallons according to viair specs.
And i believe you can put a cap full of air brake antifreeze in the tank. i have yet to do it , but have to… my solenoid likes to freeze also. (currently 8 degrees out right now)… brrrrrrrrrrrr.
7 minutes at 19 degrees is nothing for a 400c.
It’s rated for 20 minutes per hour at summer-like temps.
I never had an easy way to add air brake antifreeze to my tank.
So I dealt with a sticky solenoid valve too, but never the check valves.
Maybe because the leader hoses were connected to higher/dryer ports…
