Just got my 540 kit and I am suprised on how short the hose on the compressor is. I had planned on mounting the tank a few feet further away than the braided compressor hose would allow. Can I just buy an additional hose and daisy chain?
Additional leader hoses would each have a check valve - which you don’t need.
If I had to do something like that, I’d use galvanized pipe and fittings from the tank over to the vicinity of the compressor. Then hook the leader hose to a coupling or elbow on the end of the pipe.
I think Home Depot will cut and thread the pipe.
The important thing is to keep it all metal because the leader hose gets hot.
Gotcha. I saw online where you can buy additional braded hose without the check valve in 3’ lengths so it sounds like thats all I need to do. I have to snake the line through the engine compartment and need something flexible.
Hi Windy,
First off AWESOME choice for a horn kit. That’s what I have installed on my
Faggy-Tundra.
You’ve got a good point about the leader hose length, we offer (And I really hope have in stock) Viair part #92805 You’ll have to get a 1/4" Female brass Coupler <we have those too> to join each piece which can be purchased in 36" increments.

So I dont have to worry about the distance between the compressor and the tank? I am mounting the compressor under the hood, and the tank about midpoint of my Jeep (on the underside). The run may be 6’ give or take.
No, you don’t have to worry about the distance. Any head pressure will bleed off naturally, and any compressed air past the check valve will enter the tank to be used by the system (where it can’t bleed off).
Thanks!!
