Ok, so now I’ve calmed down and am sitting looking at my new set up sitting on the table in front of me…Sorry to be a pain, but I’m trying to plan in my mind the install, I have a few questions??
1/ Is it best to have the solinoid valve as close to the horns as possible?
2/ Should I try to keep the lengths to each of the horns the same length?
Should the Horns be facing down towards the road for max effect?
4/ Can the compressor be mounted on its side or is it best to keep it up right?
OK… JUST READ VIAIR’s RECOMMENDATIONS, FLAT & UPRIGHT
5/ I have to mount the tank on its side. I have put the water outlet & pressure release valve on two of the outlets which will be facing downwards. and the Pressure swith is mounted facing forwards… see pic (imagine the floor is the front side panel in the front of the car like where my old tank is)
OLD INSTALL PIC
NEW TANK
Does this look ok?
6/ I want to put an airline on the tank, Can I get a T-piece on outlet to horns, with a quick release coupling type thingey?
7/ If I wanted a pressure Gauge inside the car, could this be run off via the outlet between the feet of the tank using an elbow fitting? (this outlet is currently blanked off.)
8/ When fitting the tank with all connections & valves etc etc, Should all connections have PTFE tape wrapped on all the threads?
9/ If I’m tight for space, can the compressor be long ways next to tank with filter pointing downwards?
8/ If its not possible to mount the Horns all close together and I have to keep them spread apart, will this make them quieter?
I think thats it for now, but I’m sure I will have further questions…
Any help would be much appreciated or hints & tips?
I’m being all consumed by these damn Horns, having a discussion with my bro at moment as to mounting them… It looks like the whole setup may go into the rear boot now, which means I lose my little boot space altogether. I’m then thinking about cutting a hole in the floor pan for the horns to poke through and mounting them pointing downwards? Thoughts please?
When I bought my Seige horns, they recommended fitting them pointing horizontally at the ground, claiming the noise explodes on the ground and makes the horns louder.
