Well I just bought a kleinn 2 gallon tank and compressor for 120. I just need help on the install. What size wire should use to install in my car. I was reading and a few post said use 18g. What do you all think? Then I dont know how to wire the the pressure switch. Is there any basic write up or how to that gives a genarl idea if so you please let me know or post the link thank you.
How many amps does the compressor draw? 18ga is good for all the wires except the main power wire to the compressor.
Do you have a relay to go with your pressure switch?
What size wire should it be then? Yes I do have a relay to go with the pressure switch
I went 8 or 10 for my compressors.
Since you didn’t post how many amps the compressor draws -
10ga - up to 20 amps - up to 20 ft
10ga - up to 35 amps - up to 15 ft
If you want a more definite answer, what size fuse are you going to use and how long is the run??
It’s going in to my 2002 gt mustang. It says it draws 18 amps. The compressor and tank are going to be in the trunk and the horn mounted in front of the car. I was looking at the relay and confused. Will I need to tie it all into a switch?
10ga would be ok. If you go much above 20 amps and/or 20 feet then 8ga would be better. Bigger is always better with wire, so up to you.

If you want a master cutoff switch, put it between the ignition source and the relay.
Ok thank you. The relay I’m confused about I have it all put together so now do I just connect every thing and pray that it works? I have a somthing on the end of my tank it looks like the end of a power cord that you plug into the socket. What could that be?
Think it might be a pressure switch.

Note the numbers on the relay. They tell you what goes where. If your relay has 5 pins, ignore the 5th pin and just use the numbers that are in the diagram.

That looks like an electric solenoid valve for honking the horn.
Ground one of the wires. Then, when the other wire gets connected to positive (usually with a momentary button) it opens the valve.
Hopefully there is an arrow on the body somewhere indicating the direction of air flow.
So how do I wire that in I’m so confussed on this and it’s a first for me.
ground one end of the wire. On the other slice of wire. it goes valve, to a toggle switch or momentary push button and then to the + side of the battery.
For the Air hose, there is usually an arrow direction the flow of air, so one side connects to the tank, and the other goes to the horn
