Above cab headache rack horn mount.

Here ya go Izzy RSL-3LR

The material I used is 1/4 inch aluminum plate. I got it free from work. And yes, I did fabricate each piece and weld it all up myself. The only thing I don’t like about my setup is my truck no longer fits in my garage. Having the horns up high seems to work very well, you can hear them from much farther away because there is no restriction of the sound from being mounted under a vehicle. I have been told that I am much louder than the local train. (the wine train located in the napa valley, California)

Protech makes the best headache rack, as you already know.

Good luck with your design, please upload your pics as you establish your design, I am very interested in yours too.

If you look close at my horns, you will see the security measures I have taken to be sure my horns are not stolen. The mounting nuts and bolts have been welded together, which was at the time of welding a hot runny ball of goo. As you know, train horns are frequently stolen off of locomotives and i believe it is the most secure method of " locking them".
The only way for me to remove the horns is to cut the bolts with my grinder or take off the whole headache rack.
One thing i wish I had done differently is to have used stainless hardware to eliminate rust. You see, because I welded them, the galvanized coating burned off, causing the bolts to rust.

nice setup they look great
