Added some extra air today

I got my hands on a few expired SCBA tanks. We have to throw them away when the 15 year life expires. These things are super lightweight and there is nothing wrong with them but they were headed for the dumpster so I grabbed some. I installed one today for a little more honk time with the K3’s. I calculated them to be around 3.5 gallons. I used the airpack holder to mount it on the framerail under the passenger side. Let me know what ya’ll think…

This is the thread sealant I use instead of teflon tape. Works much better

If any aren’t safe anymore, you can take it to a metal recycling place and get some money for it

Really? I didn’t know they were worth anything. BTW, they were still holding 2216 psi but regardless at 15 years they have to be taken out of service.

Ya like a certain amount of $ per pound of metal (scrap yard)

Oh I thought you meant something like re-selling. Dude, they weigh like <1 pound, not worth the drive to the scrap yard. I just wanted to add a little extra air capacity and they are lightweight and free…

looks nice! what PSI you running ?

Thanks Baxd… I’m running 150 psi all 1/2" line and fittings
