air bag leveling help!

I’m just setting up dual 480’s with an 8.5 gallon tank for my Airchimes.

My truck is a 2500hd silverado. I’m wanting to put an airbag leveling kit on the back to help with heavy towing. Now runs into the problem.

My already system runs at 200psi, The bags are rated at 100psi MAX!

I would like to have individual controls for each rear side along with pressure guages for each side located in the cab so it’s easy to adjust etc…

I’m not sure if it’s as easy as putting a 100 PSI outlet on the 8.5 gallon tank running that hose to the front control and then running back to the bags?

What would ever happen if the regulator broke?

I appreciate the help and appologize in advance if I’m being ignorant!!!
AWESOME FORUM

Welcome. The only time I’ve heard about a broken regulator, it leaked to atmosphere and needed to be replaced. Won’t your air bags handle up to 200 PSI? It they don’t you might want to consider getting bags that will.

I had a set of airlift load levelers once that were rated at 100 psi all i did was run 1 line back then “T” it to the bags ran one gauge and just made sure i didnt run over 80 lbs in them so when i hit a bump it never spiked over 100. I ran it like that for almost 2 years

Perfect, so If I were to purchase this dual guage controller, it should work fine?

To hook up just come right off the tank to the controller and back to the bags correct? No electrical hook up of any kind?

Also when you do drain the bags where does the excess air purge from? I’m a little confused on this part.

I’ve looked at firestone and airlift, both those bags are commonly used for this and they are both rated at 200psi :frowning: I did however find a cheap viair regulator that I could put on the out put.

Thats pretty close to the same setup i had no electricsl hook ups except the light if you want it and the air comes our right there at the panel

so how does the system purge excess air to the bags if you want to decrease the pressure in the bags?

Thanks

another valve
this is how my set up will be, 2 valves for the 2 back bags, and 2 valves for the fronts, my front are rated only up to 110psi, ill have to buy a regulator also

actually with that setup it comes with manual valves on the panel i want to say you push up to put air in the bags and down to let air out but i may be backwards lol. the air will come out right there at the panel

Cool, that makes it much easier!!!
