Air line size for K3La's

I just put a set of K3LA’s on my truck and im running a single 1/2 line to the manifold now but I ordered the individual mounting harware from ebay so I could get them to fit in my front bumper facing downward. This kit comes with a new block style manifold and three separate 3/8 inch lines. Is this going to change the performance and sound of my horns much ???

No it’s not.

It may not be quite as loud as 1/2" line but sometimes u gotta do what u gotta do. As to how much quieter, I don’t know. Some of the guys on here have reported bumping up to 1/2" line and have said it makes a noticeable difference. The only way I can think of to keep 1/2" all the way thru is to build your own manifold or maybe install a couple 1/2" T’s and an elbow and run your lines to the bells from there. Try to keep your air lines from the manifold the same length too so the air hits each bell at the same time.

Ok cool man. Whats a good material for making my own manifold ? Stay with aluminum or steel or what ? Also what fitting’s would I see. I see some guys stay with the push-pull style but some go another route. Whats the best for my application ?

You’ll still have 1/2" O.D. line going to the new manifold right? Some people upgrade this to 1/2" I.D.

But the individual 3/8" lines after the manifold are not a restriction. You’re talking about an 1/8" hole going into the bell. I have heard that you gain volume by mounting the bells separately and use the 3/8" lines.

Yah ear2ear Im pretty positive that its 1/2’’ O.D. Should I be running 1/2’’ I.D ???
What exactly do you mean by volume ? Air or Sound ?

Both lol … volume = volume lol
But the evidence is the audible volume.

06z71silvy just upgraded to 5/8" O.D. on a K3 and made a big difference I guess.

Yes sir… On my way home tonight i’m gonna try and get a video… Many people run the k3la , and many other “REAL train horns " off of 1/2” OD line but when i tried it, i wasnt impressed… It made my purchase of the k3la seem like a waste. Since i upgraded to the 5/8" OD , It is an amazing difference! Everyone i let hear it swears there is a train nearby.

I run 1/2" line with a 3/4" valve.

And modified K3’s

Im running 1/2 O.D now but the way you talk about it 06z71sily im deffinatly going to change it over real real soon. Im not going to lie if its that much of a change im pretty dang excited lol

Oh ya… and that lol
