Air tank PSI capacity

Im wanting to get a larger tank however I need one that is not as long but taller.

This is what I need, but they are all lower PSI rated. Would it really be a big deal if I over pressure it by 50-75lbs. I know the burst pressures tend to be 500+ more.

I run my shockers on a 125 max psi tank (turns on at 90 and off at 120) PLENTY loud.

Those tanks usually have a single small port - not good for high flow horns.
You would have to combine everything into the one port & it’s not recommended to put the compressor and pressure switch on the same port.

Burst pressure is much higher than working pressure, but where do you feel comfortable. I think Hornblasters tanks are technically 150 and they say not to fill past 200…so…

My tank is stamped right on it. Max Working Pressure: 150 PSI I am running it with 200 PSI with no problems.

Even though Tanks are burst tested to about 2.5 times their rated pressure, most will corrode and weaken over time so it’s not recommended.

I agree, I wouldnt risk it myself. Not worth the headache or hassle of replacing a blown tank, possible vehicle or person damage, etc…

Numbers are stamped on them for a reason… Its the “safe” level.
