Again, new to train horns. If I have a shocker set with a 2 gal. tank, and I want a bigger tank, can I automatically upgrade to a 5 gal. tank with the same compresser and no modifications?

Absolutely!
400-series compressors should have no problem with 5 gallons of air. If you added a compressor it would just make it faster =)
