Ah I see. Just be aware that the air intake side gets really hot too. If you can’t get the filter housing cushioned somehow to keep it from rattling when you screw it to the comp, you may want to get some DOT airline which would have a higher heat rating. I’d just hate for you be runnin down the road and hear the thing shooting air everywhere and then find you have crap all melted to your comp and in the trunk ya know…
Yep, i think you’re right. I started hating nylon when i tried to curve it too muc and it bent in the sides. Hard for me now to explain it in english, but if you bend a nylon pipe it will change its shape and won’t let air flow regularly. Then i discovered that if plugged and removed for more than 4 or 5 times it will make a sort of ring shape which causes some air leak in the fittings, so you have to cut it away…
Just waiting for our custom to send me my K3 and i’ll do a heck of a good system, that’s a promise.
Thank you all guys for the advices.
I understand…nylon kinks easy when bent. Take pics while you are installing and any questions ask away!
Ok i want to build a tank to place behind my rear bumper. It should be pretty easy becuase the bar behind the bumper is straight (flat) and the absorber is made by thin metal.
So i plan on grinding the absorber away and then building a tubular tank made with iron, don’t know yet what size, i have to see how much room i have behind the bumper and then see what i can find for sale, i was thinking something like this:
Mi question is… how thick should iron be to hold 200psi? It’s gonna be about 3 gals.
I’ve seen it installed on a grand cherokee and was very nice!!!
That looks like 1.5x3 tubing, your going to make a tank out of that? I saw a guys jeep Cherokee with airride and his rear bumper was a 4x7 rectangular tubing 3/16 wall…that was also his air storage, pretty cool idea I thought and it was about 9 gallons. He said he has a fabrication shop in mckinney, tx. And they make all kinds of stuff.
A metal full replacement bumper wouldn’t look good on a car tho.
Not sure, they look too small for what i need but i may always use… i don’t know… 3 of them connected in S shape.
I don’t want to replace the bumper, my plastic bumper is gonna cover the tank.
All i have to do is remove the bumper and see how much room i have available…
3/16 should be a little less than 5mm, i’ll find something for sure but it’s gonna be HEAVY!!!
This is the only image i found of my car without the bumper, all i have to do is remove all the stuff in the right lower corner and put my tank.
Should not be that hard.
I opened a new thread in Walkthroughs, thought it was not fair using this one
