I got my 228VX kit 2 weeks ago , and now when i honk my air valve seleniod stick open and stay open till the tank empties. Sometime it dosent do it and work just fine, but 75% it does it.
Read a lot of thread and disasemble my valve and saw this hole on the diaphragme…is it normal or not suppposed to be there? Gonna grease everything up to help in case its the trouble.
I cant use my horn becasue of this , it always does a long honk and look stupid hehe.
Secondly, if i am looking at this correctly, there is a properly made pin hole which should be there. This allows the diaphragm to flex and release air once electricity opens the valve.
Now, I also see somewhat of a tear close to the lower left mounting point which should NOT be there. If I am correct, then your valve needs to be replaced.
I have personally had an issue like this before, and the easiest thing to do is change the solenoid.
Thanks for the reply , their is no tear, in the diaphragme, its only an effect of the pics and shades.
I got this fixed by lubing the valve, pins and all the element, and havent since got the problem. I think those valves should be lube before use anyway as they were dry as hell and with moisture it create friction.
As of now its been working flawless since the lubing. If you got these issue try lubing first
