Are horns closer to the tank louder?

i waz wondering if you have a shorter airline going from the tank to the horns ill be louder than if the the horns were in your grill with the tank under your bed?

if your solenoid is closer to the horns in the long run i dont think it’d matter honestly?
possibly if ur solenoid is at the tank there be that 2nd delay… dont think it’ll hurt loudness.
than agian im a noob

It will be louder as more volume will be right at the horns… I had my shockers at quite a distance away from valve tho and didnt have a prob… Now with a airchime that wants more air, its best to have them closer…

15’-20’ of airline won’t make any noticeable difference in loudness. However like Soapy said the further your valve is from the horn the greater the delay (albeit not much) and also the increased chance your horn will taper on and off as the valve opens and closes the air supply. This can cause a squealing sound from the horn when it’s receiving low pressure air.

Alright thanks guys.

The length between the horn and the tank doesnt effect the loudness of the horn. The same amout of air gets to the horn regardless how long or short your airline is. You can have 100ft of line between the horn and tank it wont effect the loudness at all, but it will effect how strong the first hit of air is when you open the valve. I dont think anyone on here runs more than 20 ft between there valve to the horn anyways.

makes perfect sense. Now that I think I’m going to buy another members K3’s, they will be closer.

Volume no, but they will react a little different.
