at the tire shop

This has to be one of the best scares because I didn’t actually initiate it myself. I took the truck in for new tires and forgot that I had left the train horn switched on. The mechanic took the keys and lined it up with an open bay then waited for the bay door to open fully. All other bays were full with about 6 other mechanics and a manager in the shop, heads-down under hoods or heads-up under frames. The shop policy (like most other garages) is to beep once or twice before pulling into the bay just to make sure they don’t run each other over. Well the mechanic hit my horn button as he was about 1/2 way in to the bay so the resulting blast was focused entirely in the enclosed shop. I was in the visitor lounge watching through the glass so I got to see every single head in the shop instantly whiplash as they jumped with shock. Almost everyone hit their head on the hoods of frames of their cars at the same time. It was a classic scene, wish I had known it was going to happen so I could have filmed it. Once the driver realized what was going on he let it rip for another 5 seconds or so which drove everyone out of the shop rubbing their bruised heads. We all laughed about it in the visitor lounge and then I was delayed for another 20 minutes while explained the horn setup to everybody including some of the other customers.

haha That’s awesome.

Job well done Bob.

Keep up the great stories!
