Audio Advice

I am putting a sound system in my car. I have 500 to spend on it. I want people to hear it from outside the car. i need everything.

New speakers, Subs, Cd player.

Everyone has theyre brands they stick to… i myself can vouch for the kicker cvx 12 and 15’’ L7’s…i had one 12 cvx that hit like 2 12’s… join up over at http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/index.php lotta helpful ppl and sellers safe and secure…gotta good deal on a really big amp few weeks ago…oh yea they are used as well as brand new inbox

for $500 i would just go subs and deck, doesn’t the new silverado have a decent deck in it?

Why do you want people to hear it? lol People that bass me at redlights usually warrant a good blasting when their window is down.

500 for all that is not bad… but u wont get the best… head units now, a good one, are like atleast 200.

if you need installation then u need more money if you can do it on your own ur good.

I have lots of used equipment if u need anythng… from subs to amps
if i were you i would throw in the one nice 12 and a decent amp

500 is not alot. Your best bet would be a decent deck, a kicker truck box if going in a truck, and the best amp you can afford.

Yes you rattle my car at a light with your system, I will rattle your ear drums with my horns, and everyone else within 500 feet.

I think I have to do that sometime. had a few occasions where someone tailgates me, sees my DD sticker then proceeds to turn his system up and stays at my back for a while with his system booming.

ya the truck does but its not what i want. it has a vipor in it so i have to have someone do the deck for me. but thanks for all the help.

No one is going to hear you for 500.

sorry but ima have to disagree there…500 isn’t alot but what I would suggest getting things in stages…I.e amp kit ( best go 4ga or bigger), then amp and woofers…I believe you will be fine with your stock headunit just won’t be at optimum power to amp buddy of mine is currently runnin 2 L7s on a stock with no prob in a 07 avalanche I’m sure up here I could put you together something good for that price…best thing to do is continue to look around b4 you commit…and imo stay away from walmart specials

I would recomend getting a nice set of component speakers and an amp first then save up and buy your sub later on your budget.

This is a bada$$ combo for your front stage but its jmo.

He said HE NEEDS EVERYTHING. quote/unquote. So you see where I got my answer. If you need EVERYTHING, 500 aint gonna cut it but I agree with you on getting things in stages. if all you got is 500 then you have no choice. I installed car audio for 10 years.

have to aggree with wildhorn…only way to get all that is to go cheap. i used to use cheap crap and theres no way i would anymore since ive had a good system.

if you just want loud, then yea the L7s are loud as hell…but sound like crap! i had a jlw6 but i sold it when i got ahold of my jbl…the jbl was half the price but to me it sounded a lot better…for a sub, i would stick with jbl or a round mtx.

speakers, i liked my infinity kappas

for a amp…stick with a good brand. the cheap ones work but they dont put out nearly the power they claim and the speakers will sound way better with a good amp.

i would stay away from sony and all the crap thats all walmart…theres a reason why its there, its cheap!

just take your time and buy what you can when you can…you’lle be a lot happier

try Digital Designs. they don’t look like it but they sure pound. you get every cent’s worth in performance. although I’m not sure if it can fit in your $500 budget including amps etc.

Digital design does make some economically good equipment. I mean, to each his own but, You can make cheap speakers sound GOOD if you have enough power and the right crossover. In THIS situation, you can do ONE sub and two amps. Keep your factory radio and speakers. Tune it right and you wont want anything else. Thats if you tune it right. This way, your system is stealth and all your windows will STILL be in your truck when you come out of the Mall.
