bad night

lol well where to start, was going to take off horns after black friday,

was honkin at my dads farm to piss off hunters and compressors running great, after 3-4 minutes, i look at my battery gauge and its below the 9 and thats all the way as low as it can go. my friend in the truck goes wtf is that smell and we look behind us to see smoke coming out of my tool box and the sound of air blowing out.

I start freaking and shut my poop off and pop open the poop.

Well my ground wire completely melted and i mean melted lol, ill upload a pic tomorrow and it was melted into my truck tool box and was melted into my air line lol

bahhh

so i took everything out and i mean everything haha

so what would cause it to do that, I have not had a single problem for months?

fuse u use is too high to get blown and heated up ur wire til it melted? ?

60 amp fuse is what i was told to use.

Time to upgrade your wire. I’d look into 1/0 if you’re not running it already.

Kris

Sounds like a short with a fuse that is too large.

their diagram says use a 60 amp, I thought they pull extra when they first start so if i use a smaller one it will just blow.

lllllll

yea wow same day, i didnt even try them after that poop fried, next year i will find out.

Damn that sucks man. What gauge is the wire that melted?
Was it one fuse near the battery?

it was a ground wire, dont know what gauge, ill have to look.

Check your battery on your truck. I have had problems with ground wires melting when batterys take a dump.

im going to be getting a better battery, i have a cheap fleet farm battery lol

if i get the pressure switch with dual relays built in like this http://www.hornblasters.com/products/details.php?i=hornblasters-110-150-psi-pressure-switch-with-dual-relays

i dont need to run my other relays right?i wanna clean my install up and make it look sexy.
