Two days ago in my city rained so much that streets looked like sea.
Actually problem is that two of the 3 horns are installed horizontally… let’s say like this |–< >—| and dirty water surely got inside of them.
All the night (while i was driving back home) i tried to blast them in the hope of pumping out the remaining water out of the horns but sound was somehow muffled.
Today (after one day and half of car resting at the sun) i recharged the air and blasted again.
What i can clearly hear is the small horn which is installed vertically facing down, the other two horns sound strange…
Do you guys think that i have to remove the two horizontal horns and clean them?
I mean… what happens with train when they get years of rain and dust?
Keep using them they should clear out. Rain, dust, dirt doesnt really affect horns on a train since they are constantly being used. Years of neglect will cause them to have issues.
No it’s more like if someone put a little cotton wool ball in each horn (not the small one) so they sound not as loud as they should.
I’ll try to make a video tomorrow, hope to get a good sound on file.
This is why i do not have any of my horns facing forward… i would love to for better sound quality but with the buffalo weather / winter / salt etc… it would make the horns sound like crap if i didnt clean them out all the time
