Best System on a budget

I have a budget of roughly 400-500 dollars and want the best bang for my buck!
I used to have the shocker kit back in 09 with the 200psi compressor, 4 horns, and 3 gallon air tank, with 5/16s lines. I loved it except I wish I had went with 3/8s lines everywhere, but I sold it when I sold my tahoe.
Now I have another tahoe and I am desperately wanting another horn, haha!
What do you guys recommend for within my budget?

Shockers!!!

Is the shocker 3/8 and valve upgrade kit worth it?

My set had a 5/16 line ran to it and i have not heard them with bigger line. But im sure it is worth going to 3/8 since you will have more volume of air going to the horns.

I gotcha wouldn’t you think 3/8 would be louder…?
Mine was really loud, but not quite as loud as I wanted.

What about p3’s? What is your opinion of those versus the sound of the shockers or better?

P3 old cast i personaly think is the best sounding horn. I still have my old cast currently sitting in the living room(not for sale)

What about the newer p3’s?
Basically I’m looking for the loudest blow for the money… I just don’t think the current shocker 232 kit is worth that much money…?

I dont really like the tone of the new P3s. But if you are wanting something thats just insanly loud your gonna want a K3.

What could I get a used k3 with tank, compressor, valve, air lines, and cutoff switch for all included?

Depends on who you buy thru. I have about 650-700 in my complete setup.

How did you get all that for that cheap?
Show me your ways! Haha!
I want a system with 3-5 gallon tank, a pretty good viair compressor (not the highest grade, but then again not the lowest either), and a system ran off of 3/8s lines.
What do you think?

:)save you money build your own system. nothing compares to a nathan air chime w the right comp lines and pressure switch lol guarenteed to be the louder of most plastic horn set ups

My budget is 500 dollars and no more for this  can’t justify anymore than that right now
Really would prefer no more than 450. I have tires/rims/lift/exhaust/tune/intake to buy haha!

Well, you hardly ever see a K3 for less than 400 or so. Maybe craigslist or estate sales or a hookup. But then you still need an air kit, so just stick with the Shockers. They are great horns.

Shocker XL’s with the 1/2" valve and 1/2" line splitting to 5/16" - $280
HB has a couple compressors in their clearance section for $150
5 gallon Horn Air tank - $65
pressure switch - $30
tank fitting kit - $25 approx(i forget actual price)
That’s $550 ----- So personally I’d just pick the best complete kit you can afford. Then it’s all brand new and complete with wiring. Good luck.

Man I appreciate the info and help bro!
I see the entry shocker for 30 less than HB new on ebay with the best offer option… I’m thinking of offering 399 then trying to upgrade. Would it be beneficial to get 3/8s line to the splitter from the tank then 5/16s from there to all 4 horns versus 5/16s all around? Trying to get the shocker as loud as possible  It comes with a 110/150 cut off switch? Should I upgrade that to a 150?

Yes get the upgraded line. All 4 complete kits with air packages show the upgraded lines (on HB website). 1/2" airline to 1/2" valve with 5/16" separate lines. If you had all 5/16" before, you should notice a decent difference.

Pressure switch is 150 shutoff… you want to upgrade to 150? lol

Excuse my ignorance… I realized this briefly after posting, haha!
Appreciate the help! The upgrade kit that’s around 90 bucks is worth it to purchase from HB??

Which horn kit are you looking at?
I thing all the new kits have 1/2" valve & airline before the splitter - unless you’re looking at the horn kits with no air package.
