Bitten by the bug

BAHAHA… first couple of victims got blasted today with the set of Shockers and I’m badly addicted now. These are just awesome… only one problem
Now I want a set of Nathans

Seriously folks… couple of questions for the guys that have or do own both kinds:

  1. How much more impact does a 200psi setup have over a 150?
  2. Other than sound quality, how much lounder is a set of K3 or K5’s over the Shockers?
  1. a lot… I love it.
  2. compare your horn vs a train and you have an answer… lol

LOL… now that sounds to me like a perfect excuse to go and hunt me down a level crossing.

its like a bugatti veryon vs a honda accord… lol

Nah, nah …

It’s like the new Batmobile to the old school VW bug.

the bug gets expensive after a while haha

:rolleyes:Hmmm… yeah. Convincing the missus that the XL’s simply aren’t loud enough is going to be a challenge. I could do the Homer Simpson style Birthday present and buy her a Bowling Ball … err. a K3 I mean.

I wouldnt say that…impact you talk about is a higher pitch sound is all.

You cant accurately compare the Shocker horn to the real thing.

Remember, train horns are mounted 10ft in the air, unobstructed. The day somebody mounts the Shocker horns on an actual train will be the day we have and accurate comparison.

EDIT:
Or better yet, someone needs to test the K5, K3, and Shocker with a db meter at the same distance. All horns powered by the same psi.

Stay 150 psi, but increase volume. PM for details.

I have the 5/16ths line running to the horns- not half inch. So I dont have that higher pitched sound… Same tone, just louder. It does tend to squeek on more humid days at 200psi but not at 150.
