Broken Diaphragm On My 46115

Uh oh! We have ourselves a case here of broken diaphragm. It’s all good, Jason from Air Horns of Texas already put a replacement in the mail, free of charge.

These guys held up surprisingly well for being exposed to rain, snow, and salt. I’m bummed about not being able to use my babies for a few days, but I’ll take this opportunity to give them a nice thorough cleaning.

I would suggest lowering the AP to 100 - 125 PSI. These horns were not meant to be blown on such high pressure.

The 46129s are not meant for this pressure. These ones are rated by the manufacturer for up to 150, and I run them at 140. Besides, the other diaphragms are in perfect condition, the springs hardly left a mark on those ones. This one was probably just forged weirdly.

Well, since you have a new one coming then all should be well. I wonder if a P-diaphragm would fit your UP horn? I would think that these might be more rugged.

It would if they were the exact same size. These are 84mm across in diameter.
