buying nathan k3la

so i found a cheap set of nathans, used from a guy for 175

there no manifold (kinda scary), and one has a busted diaprham

now assuming the other 2 are in perfect condition interanl wise is it worth the 175?

im thinking it is, being i live in a small town…and he over 100 miles away an willing to deliver

another thing…anyway i can make a manifold for these?

You can make individual manifolds. But you cant make a real manifold without the cast they use for casting the K series manifolds. As far as the bells go do you know if any of the bells are cracked or chipped? Are you sure only one diagphram is busted?

not sure im going to look at them an see…

175 with no shipping is a decent deal. A new diaphram is $16 from Hornblasters.
I have ideas to make a manifold out of square tubing, but would take some real skills.
Otherwise watch ebay for a real one or do the individual brackets.

Welcome to the forums.

What type of tools do you have for fabricating? I do a lot of my own fabricating and can either help with ideas or building custom brackets or manifold.

well for tools i got a small wirewelder,( gasless century bought for 40 bux off a poor man lol) grinder, basic hand tools and so on…

well if these only have those 2 problems i will probably buy then

i did notice a “new” set goes for 1000 bux…im stuck between these and a motorcylce paid off lol…

so what would you guys do?

i am gonna take all 3 of them apart an inspect them good…anything other then the diahrams/crack/ or bad rubber seal i need to look for?

Woah, there’re sets for sale right now in the classified section for way less than 1000 bux.

i meant like online stores…basically it boils down to this

if i pay 175 for them, can i resell them with a “custom” manifold (course after the bad diaphram is fixed)

and make money off them?

Making a manifold would be ok if it’s for your ride.
But I don’t see a custom manifold being very good selling point.
On a side note, you can usually sell individual bells on ebay for at least 75 a piece.

oh thats good to hear…like i said though im gonna pop the caps off them an look em over really good…

anyone know the bolt size?

The back caps? I think they’re 1/4-20. 7/16" socket

If you want to resell them send me a PM with what bells you got and pictures I will buy them. And as far as K horns go I have a few bells laying around dont have any manifolds though other than two high manifolds both with bells on them. Would you rather have a cast manifold if you buy the bells?

That is the correct bolt size of the back caps.

well send some ideas on the single manifolds…my ideas have failed…i do have square tubing also

It’s easiest to email a couple .PDFs or .JPGs.
If you throw your email up, I’ll edit your post to remove it right away.
Then I’ll make a couple drawings at work tomorrow.

What size square tubing do you have?
Can you tap 3/8-16 holes or would you rather weld studs? (threaded rod)

***** is my email…my buddy has allllllllll kinds of tools, so anything is possible lol…i will prolly do the studs…

thanks for the help!!

^^^Removed email above.

I’ll get something tomorrow at work.

awesome thanks…i cant wait to let these things loose
