Need some input on how to make some brackets to install my horns. If you have any pics of your install then i would be glad to see them. My horns are going on the spare tire location. Just the horns and nothing else. No welds will be made to the body/frame. Just tryin to come up w/ some ideas.
You got a place on base you can get angle iron? Does the Auto Hobby shop have a welder?
My plans for my K5LL will be a frame mount but I’m trying to keep the spare. Right now my K3LA is mounted to the frame rail near the fuel tank, and that will end up on the wife’s '06 when I’m done.
Install write up has a link in my sig block.

I couldn’t fit a spare in that area so I took a torch to the cable mount bracket and used the two supports on the frame for a bracket.
Ok guys, thanks for the input. I found a way to temp throw them on there. They will hold for good until i can build a nice permanent bracket. I will try and post some pics as soon as i complete the entire setup.
Basically for now they are mounted on a class IV hitch. Took the ball out and welded a plate on it and secured the horns to it. I slide the hitch in backwards, from the spare tire side and lock it in place. Just cant tow anything now, but like i said its only temp.
I have a 2003 Ram 1500 Quad Cab. I don’t know if it will help you but here is a picture of my shockers and psychoblasters mounted up front under the radiator angled down 45*. I just used some scrap bracket pieces to mount them. They’ve been working fine for three years now. My tank and compressor are mounted to the frame on the right side under the doors. I can post those pics if you want.
