that would not be a good idea… you have to have a 200 psi rated compressor to run 200 psi.
It does indeed mean its not such a good idea. The compressor is designed only to run at 175. Meaning its lifespan may be significantly reduced if you run it above its design spec. and you will void your warranty. Neither is especially good.
The rest of your equipment can hold 200 PSI no problem. I’d recommend buying a different compressor if you’re really interested in the higher pressure.
You could even run both: they both run up to 175 PSI where the 495C shuts off, and the second compressor finishes up the last 25 PSI by itself. This means you’ll get lightning fast fill times, and keep the warranty on the 495.
Dont forget you would have to keep the 175 pressure switch for the 495c and a 200 psi switch for the new compressor
thanks for the replies guys… i think i will just leave things as they are at the moment then…
Well no worries. If you decide to later just let us know and we’d be more than happy to help.
Exactly. No other way to do it =)
was reminding him not you oh great one! =P
ill tell ya what… i’ll be a nice guy and trade you my viair 380c (200psi compressor) for your 495c… I’ll even pay shipping…
