Candy Apple and Black Powder Coated P3.

3 colors is a time consuming process but I think these are the nicest colors I have done yet. Candies are really hard to do, but I got lucky as this was my first time using candies. I must be getting better.

Step 1, gloss black, step 2 chrome, step 3 candy red.

Total time invested from strip down, media, powder, assemble 16 hours. Time was wasted, due to inexperience with these colors, so I took my time as too only do this once. I had to chase every hole with a tap since candy color gets in every small spot. While single stage powders dont. Its also alot of waiting for the powder to bake/cure. I have about 8 hours in time in the oven today. 3 colors means 40 min in the oven 3 different times, masking off 3 times. I think after I do a couple more I should be able to do this in 8 hours. I cant wait to perfect this color.

A nice new K horn with a smooth surface would really look good in these colors. But for a rough sand cast I think it still came out good.

Sorry for the crappy pics, I am too giddy to share these. Didn’t want to wait till tomorrow when I take good pics.

Thank you guys. I have a Sandcast K3, K5, and a M3 that are getting done the same in the next few weeks. I cant wait to do the M3.

That is very sharp!!! Makes me want to do mine again, but they sleep under the bed of my truck… so no point there. Plus I choose the dark colors for stealth reasons. haha
