Compact Install Help?

I’m looking for help with a install on what kind of the items below to consider:

  1. Compressor (small as possible)
  2. Tank (possibly 5gl or smaller)
  3. Air lines and connections.
  4. Switch to make the horns to work.
  5. Per sure gauge that would be nice if I can read it in the car.

I would like help with what kind of a small quiet compressor that can be mounted under the car out in winter weather (I live around Buffalo NY) or the trunk if need be. I was thinking a five air gallon tank but need advice on what size is ok for the short horn blows and not many a day. I can mount in the trunk would be plenty or air for the every so often horn use I would be doing. Rapid recovery of air is not that important to me. So need help on what size and what air tank I should consider. Not sure what switch to control the horn use. I would like the switch in the car and as stealth as possible to control the horns. I have Nathan Air Chime K3HA’s and am going to do a stealth install (hide them under my car) I can figure out how to mount them safely and way so the elements don’t bother the horns. I can also figure out how to wire the system safely and run the lines safely.

Welcome to the site from a fellow buffalonian …

What kinda car are you installing this on? Since you allready got the horns, You would be best off price wise going to www.hornblasters.com and looking at the air packages that include tank / compressor / etc…

BTW where abouts in buffalo are you? West Seneca here… later

Don’t laugh I will be putting the horns on a Acura TL. They will be hidden under the car in such a way you will have to get under it and look for them. I’m in Hamburg. We will have to get together some day and show each other how horny we are. Ya I was thinking
http://www.hornblasters.com/
would be a easy way to get set up and not have to mix and match stuff…but are they really the best prices?

They are definately within the range of all the other companies out there… But to be honest the main difference ive seen is the customer service they provide! Extremely fast shipping , and they stand behind what they sell!

Putting those horns on an acura would be awesome! Nobody would expect it from that car! Come nicer weather we should get a meet going on for NY’ers … I know there are a couple more on here… I cant wait till i get my K3LA on my truck! Gotta wait till nicer weather tho seeying how my truck wont fit in garage! Unless you got a big garage? HAHAHAHAHA

Ya I have to wait till it’s warmer outside also to install. LOL Can’t wait to see the looks I will get or wondering if the sound really came from my car when I educate the few I think need it.

Mate, welcome to the Forum… You cant beat Hornblasters for service and help, worth paying a couple of bucks more for!!

I fitted a whole Shocker XL setup in the boot of a Toyota MR2, I woz using the 2 gallon tank. If I can do it, anyone can.

Check out this old vid of mine.

Welcome Joe, our compressor can handle your extreme weather but they’re not recommended on a frame if they salt the roads in winter. The salt accelerates aging.

lol, Salt is the abbreviation of buffalo ny ;(

some customers put them elsewhere and plumb it to the tank on the frame.
