looking at moving my compressor and tank to my toolbox. In ohio it was 12 degrees the other day. Would i have any freezing problems or such thing? Out of room in the ext cab so thats why i want to move them
Moisture can freeze in your air lines and valves when it gets that cold, sometimes enough to block air flow. Some say put a small amount of antifreeze (tablespoon full?) in your tank. The guys here will eventually give you their input.
When I mounted mine I just made sure there wasn’t any “up hills” between the compressor and the tank. So any moisture that collected in the lines would drain into the tank. I’ve never had any issues. It seems that the braided leader hoses get warm enough to melt any ice anyhow…
