Compressor wiring problem

I’ve had the shocker set for about 2 years now with no problems with my compressor until a few weeks ago. I’ve been blowing fuses left and right and i even regrounded the ground wire coming from the compressor and it worked for about 3 refills of the tank and now back to still blowing fuses left and right. I even did a visual on my entire wire setup and there are no open wires and everything tests normal with my meter. Is anyone else having this problem? I have my compressor hooked to an on off switch so I can control it would this be an issue? I’ve had my old set of outlaws set up just like this and I never had a problem with then like I am having now.

The obvious items to check:

  • Did you make a recent change (new, higher-pressure pressure switch) that might cause more amps to be drawn?
  • Is the fuse undersized for the power your unit is drawing?
  • Do you have a short, somewhere, such as your switch, your connections, where your wiring makes sharp bends, where your wiring moves back/forth a lot, where your wiring comes near sharp edges?

Well honestly it sounds like the compressor is getting old and working harder and drawing more current which is blowing fuses. I am probably wrong lol

If you checked all your grounds and wiring, I would say something with compressor.

Since you already redid your ground, I agree with the other guys.

I’ve heard that faulty check valves can cause that with Viair compressors.
