Concealed Weapons Permit

Anyone have one?? Did you take the course? Im signed up to take my class next month so I can legally carry a concealed weapon… Cant fn wait!!

I wish, NYC has the strictest gun laws. Only have residence permit for now. Gotta become law enforcement to carry in NYC

I have a friend that teaches them. I haven’t taken one due to me not having a firearm but from what he says its fairly straight forward.

you dont need a firearm to take the course…
but i know if i pass in my state then i can carry in like 21 other states…just dont know which one…
also it opens up for gun carrying jobs lol

Yes. i have had one for over 11 years now

What other states does ur permit allow u to carry in…

u ever had ur gun on ur and been questioned or got involved with cops some way??

i think NJ is like that too…

Yes sir - Nebraska.

I know, I just dont plan on buying one anytime soon, so why take it lol.

gotcha…

I witnessed a robbery a few weeks ago so obviously had to talk with them. In NE you have to disclose that you are permit holder. So the next question was - is it on you right now? I said yes and it was never brought up again.

BTW - I take a whole different attitude with honking & scaring while I’m carrying. There’s just too much at stake…gotta use your head.

Here’s a neat tool for you to check out (might have to wait for it to be approved since it’s a URL):

If you have your state’s resident CCW and the Utah non-resident CCW you’re covered in at least 31 states. Check the reciprocity map link above to verify your state’s reciprocity and what you need to do to legally carry outside your state.

I’m getting my CCW this summer (if I can find a left hand holster I like) and then see what I can do about the Utah non-resident.

The only time I’ve been stopped and checked was coming back from the range with my sons and the officer could see the ammo cans and weapons bags in the bed of the truck. It helps when you’re a former Marine, government contractor with ID, and there is USMC bling on your rig. I screwed up and did a lane change without signaling and he tagged me for it. We ended up talking guns and about his son in the Army, and he let me off with a verbal warning …

That and I had 4 long guns and 2 semi-auto pistols locked up in the bed, and my boys were chatting him up about “going shooting with their Dad”.

sweet that link is awesome… thanks…
i approve the links anyway…lol

some of the things dont make sense… like my main state is delaware and it allows me to carry in bunch of other states like Florida…but it wont allow me to carry in PA… But if my main state is Florida… It will allow me to carry in PA…lol

I’m told that they’re available here in CA but good luck trying to get one.

You might be able to do it with your resident CCW, the Utah non-resident, and the Florida non-resident.

That link will let you choose between resident and non-resident, and then show you if it’ll be fine or not.

And glad I could help!

Kris

ya that link helped alot…exactly what i needed…

It looks like you could get a non-resident Florida or Utah permit and you’d be good in PA.

The Utah add-on only added like an hour to my class.

Question tho…

If i get my permit in Delaware…and on the map all those places that honor my permit does that mean I can carry in those states with just my permit or I have to file additional paper work to be able to carry in those states…

If I have to file additional paperwork to be able to carry in those states, so i would have to get my permit in delaware…then get a permit in florida and then i will be allowed to get a permit in PA… right?

silly notherners… just move to Alabama lol pay $20 and wait 2 weeks for it in the mail…

Your DE permit would allow you “x” number of states with no additional paperwork.
Those states honor your DE permit.

Obtaining a FL non-resident permit adds a few states with no additional paperwork.
You don’t have to contact anyone in PA.

FL and UT seem to be the common ones for non-resident permits. FL is easier.

That’s the way it should be everywhere!
