Different solenoid valve types?

Been using a standard 3/4" valve on my minivan that looks like this…

Been fine for the last 6 years or so, but recently froze in our little blizzard

After thawing out, the flow is low to the point where my horns sound like I’m choking a chicken

While shopping for a replacement, I stumbled upon this one with a side mounted diaphragm.

Are there any different characteristics with valves of this type?

I would still recommend the standard diaphragm, like the one on our 3/4in brass air valve. This has a sealed solenoid block with just the 2 needed leads already coming out of it. - https://hornblasters.com/collections/air-valves-valve-kits/products/brass-3-4-electric-air-valve
