digital hb air pressure guage..?

hi,
anybody else got one of these? the one with the blue surround, ive only just got round to fitting mine and it seems to be about 12psi out ? is this normal for a digital guage or is my sender unit at fault??
pressure switch shuts off at 200psi but digital clock only reads 188 psi ?

anybody?

do you have a mechanical gauge on the tank? It could also be your pressure switch.

Air Zenith seem to be pretty accurate; read off my mech gauge and its the same.

hi,
yes i forgot to mention that, yes i have got a mechanical guage also in the tank and that reads 200psi…

so surely its the sender in the tank and not the guage right…?

yeah most likely…contact HB and tell them whats going on they should fix you up.

Sometimes a mechanical gauge can corrode and and stick. Thus reading a higher pressure that normal.

I believe you are supposed to have it grounded to the same place the compressor is also… if not you might get a faulty reading.

^^^^Yeah, the AZ gauge - you have to ground the transducer (sensor) to the same spot as the gauge.

hi,
thanks for the replys…
but yes you have hit the nail on the head there because the earth from the sender is grounded on the same earth point as my compressors so it cant be nothing to do with that…:frowning:

It has nothing to do with the compressor ground.

The 2 grounds in question are the sender’s ground and the gauge’s ground (in the cab).
They can be grounded with the compressor but don’t have to be.
