I’m looking at buying the hornblaster conductors special model 240.Is there anything else I need to buy after the kit. Also should do anything to improve it.I see alot of people talking about changing lines and stuff…The kit I think is around 612.00 to the door step.So I was looking to get a idea of additional cost over that…Toggles, horn buttons what ever…Also I live in Northern Ny wondering about mounting everything on inside of frame on 2010 dodge 1500 quad cab.Air tank and compressor.Or will that hurt anything?Thank you for your time this is all new to me and I will be the first in the area to have anything like this…
Welcome.
That kit has about everything. Like you say, maybe a horn button. Also some hardware to mount the tank. That kit already comes with 1/2" tubing and 1/2" valve. Some don’t - so that’s why there’s an upgrade kit. The people talking about going larger than that have a real trainhorn.
Any where you can fit them though, as long as nothing contacts the driveshaft or sits on the exhaust. The compressor needs a dry intake and shouldn’t be mounted upside down.
Post up some pics when you get it going!
Ok this is all new to me dry intake what part of the kit is that and where do they run that into cab or under hood?
It’s the little air filter for the compressor. It can either be screwed directly onto the compressor or use the remote mounting kit that comes with it. You just don’t want it to take direct splashes of water.
So if im reading and understanding you correctly the compressor can take rain, snow and ice or at least some. That brings up the question of rd salt from the winter rds.
There are many compressors living under peoples trucks, but the less salt the better. The compressor itself is sealed, so it’s pretty much aesthetics. You could always make a little shield for it.
Great idea!! That wouldn’t be hard at all…Ok my friend take care, we care, have a super fine one and a better day tomorrow from mine to yours god bless… Thanks for all of the advice.
Welcome and God bless you too!
