So I’m thinking of hooking up an oiled compressor to my system, but it’ll probably spray some oil into the tank and also the horns will get some of it with my configuration.
Do hornblaster Shockers care if they get all greasy?
What about electric air valves? I’m using the big 1/2" one that came with my Shocker 240 kit.
It’d be probably either 80w90 gear oil or some kind of high temperature grease …
You see I’m trying to save money by not getting an air/oil separator.

Hi Dan,
Thank you for writing. You have asked a really good question, and yes, the horns are somewhat sensitive to oil residue. We have noticed that oil on the diaphragms tends to collect particles of dust and debris, and that over time the diaphragms will then get dirty and not function as they should.
In the long run, providing a clean air supply to the horns will help to keep them working well.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need additional information.
Best Regards,
John

and you are going to trash your system by being cheap…
Be patient and get an oil separator. It will be worth it in the long run. As John from B.U.E.L.L said, it will damage the horns.
