Whether this is weather related i don’t know but got in the car this morning after defrosting it about -5°C, and thought lets have a blast.
Flicked the swtich on the dash for the compressor and the other for the horn and pressed away. Nice blast but the compressor didnt kick in.
Got back, checked all the wiring and all in order there. Took power direct to compressor and it worked straight away, so i’m just wondering if it could be the little blue box that bolts into the tank that has either got moisture in it or just generally packed in?
The relayt switch for the horns clicks, so i know theres power to that… just somethings not triggering the compressor to fire in?
Any help appreciated
Thanks,
Stu
P.s. I have the HornBlasters Conductor’s Special Model 232 Train Horn Kit
Yeah sorry, the solenoid for the horns all work fine, but cant hear anything when i flick the switch on for the compressor.
I emptied the tank of moisture last week and thought i may have disturbed a wire, but remembered i charged the system back up afterwards and sounded the horns off a treat.
I think the earth is fine as i took the power lead to the compressor off and touched it direct to the posotive battery terminal and it started working no problem…
Yeah had a feeling it might be the box going bad. Luckily i’m going to see a good friend whose a whizz with electronics tomorrow (changing all the dash clocks and interior lights to blue LED’s), so all being well he might be able to see whats gone wrong.
Fixed! Turned out the connector for the earth (which appeared fine) had indeed bacme seperated within the plastic cowling of the connector. As well as re fixing the main power to the battery, all is now well
Magnet generator fixed so it sounds like a generator is more to me. It may also have an external control box. The generator that they a generator or alternator. This one is Dodgy control box.
