It hurts like mad!!! I was once sitting in the back bed of the truck, approx 18" from my K3’s, and someone thought it would be funny to film me getting blasted, It took nearly 4hrs for the sensation in my ears to stop…I thought the tank had exploded on me.
WTF BRO
Hahaha. Dumb as a rock! Honk at a Trooper??? That’s what you get!
I have had that happen to me as well. I was under my truck fixing a air leak and a buddy hit the button.(I have 2 sets of XL Shockers) to my suprise it didnt hurt at all…I take that as a sign that i must be that deaf already from my old subwoofer setups.
Any word on what happened on your court date?
I hope they didn’t throw the Book at him. (Like having the charge upgraded to assault on an officer of the law) hmmmm. Well it is the judges decision and the judge would want to punish him so that the punishment has an Impact on him so he won’t do anything like this again.
Missed this thread before somehow.
I passed through the scene of an accident about 3 months ago. The fire department was on scene, ambulance had already left with 2 patients, and there were 2 NC State Troopers on the scene. When I cruised through their little detour…I gave about a 1 second blast from the Nathan’s. When I looked in the mirror, all I could see were 2 Troopers, watching me like hawks as I drove away.
Oh yeah, guess it helps actually being a member of that fire dept. I was heading to work, so I wasn’t on the call. I think between the horn and my license plate…I drew quite a bit of attention to myself though lol
-A little update-
My next court date, the first one with my attorney present is on the 14th of this month, 8:30 in the morning, same time as the 1st court date so I take it as another quick meeting. At first glance, my attorney thinks the case is ridiculous and is asking the prosecutor to just reduce the charge to a ‘improper use of horn’ or similar ticket.
We will see what happens though. It all hinges on what constitutes “endangerment” or probable “endangerment”.
good luck…keep us updated! thnx
I accidentally sounded my horns in proximity to an Ohio bear…He was around the corner out of sight when I tapped them briefly at a buddy of mine…My buddy then passed the cop and relayed to me that his eyes were as big as saucers.Luckily the officer never saw my vehicle…
Cool thanks for that.
As a former MP in the military anytime we issued a summons for any traffic violation we wrote on the back anything that would help us remember the cause of the citation. For you to honk a LEO was in poor taste and hopefully you will learn from it. You might have a pay a fine and you can cause damage by honking at such close range…ie 20-30 feet. After you think about it some you will know you were wrong and accept your punishment. I hope they make it hurt as you and others who honk in a bad way make us others look bad. Choose your battles carefully.
Evidentiary hearing this morning? Good luck.
First court appearance was “Arraignment”, if I spelled that right.
Today was the “Pre-trial”… no cops show up. Just lawyers.
The prosecuting attorney dropped the misdeamenor and offered a Washington “46.61.212”, something to do with failing to yield to an emergency worker… $128 fine.
The lawyers though it was pretty ridiculous and I was wanting to go ahead and do the trial, but then I thought against it because of the 2% chance that I might be found guilty (somehow). So I’m out $128 but that’s fine!
On a side note, I horned the heck out of downtown Vancouver Wa after court!
haha Sweet! Just be more careful where you honk. Specially if the judge has you do Probation.
Aww I wanted u to keep fighting it…lol

So do you lose any points on your driver’s liscense? As in - will your insurance go up?
Well, thanks for the lesson (and the entertainment LOL). Sometimes it’s better to let it go.
Thanks for the vid too.
Nope, no insurance hike. It’s lower than a speeding ticket, it’s just a fine (infraction) that’s it.
I feel like I’ve won, $124 isn’t bad and if the fine was much more then I would have gone ahead and went to court and pwned the trooper.
Now, I have a dashcam and a rearcam, both made from point and shoot camcorders… so I have evidence if a cop ever tries to pull something like this on me again!
A Flip video 480p camcorder facing the rear, and a Sanyo Xacti VPC-PD2 facing the front.
someone needs more air
pics of ur dash and rear cam?
