EDC with a K3LA Plumbing need help!

Hey guys I just bought a K3LA an a york 210 compressor. Im about to order my tank today an I had a few questions:

  1. Can I run two seprate tanks and connect them with a line??

  2. Does it matter what size line I should run from the EDC to the tanks? Or what would be the minimum size line to use with the 210? I was thinking of making the lines smaller coming from the compressor (3/8 inch), and the lines going to the horn would be bigger (1/2 inch).

Ive searched and learned alot about the setup, but maybe someone could give me the exact answer Im looking for! Thanks:cool:

The line size from the York to your tanks shouldn’t matter too much. Dan and Lance would probably know best, but I’d guess 3/8in line would be ideal.

You can plumb your tanks together with air line, just use at least the same size line as is going to your horns (if not bigger). This way you won’t hurt flow when the first reservoir starts to empty.

To answer the first question, Yes you can. I run 2 five gallon tanks to supply air to my k3. And a 1/2" diameter airline between the two. I also use 1/2" airline from the tanks to the K3. I am not familiar with the compressors you are running. I use 2 Viair 450’s and use the hose they supplied to connect to the tanks. Hope this helps.

Bigger line between the two is always better

Thanks, yeah the compressor is an EDC, but it doesent have the leader hose like the electrics do, Im wondering if anybody knows what size it is? O btw does anyone know where I can get a discount for two 3 gallon tanks, and a 210 bracket??

3/8" line from a york works very well. We even have adaptor elbows that convert the york ports to 3/8" NPT (national pipe thread). I hope you’re using an electric clutch controlled by a pressure switch. You’ll love how fast it can fill air tanks.

The rest has already been covered by the guys before me.

I just ordered 2, 3 gallon black powdercoated tanks today. :)Im gonna put them on the outside of the passenger side frame rail. Yeah the comp. has an electric clutch, Im getting everything piece by piece. Ill be building the bracket to hold the horns in place of the spare tire, this weekend.

That what I was plannin on doin. Im gonna take pics of every thing, and write a how to for the edc, and how to fab a custom bracket for the NNBS Silverado/Sierra, where the spare tire is.

i made a braket for my k5 that would probably be perfect for your setup… check my thread
