Ok so this is not another question on horn installation…
I was cruising home after work the other day when I saw a new locomotive hooked to a relatively short string of cars down in the Port Of Los Angeles. I promptly gave him a couple of quick “toots” and proceded on my way home and forgot all about the train that is all to common in this area.
Well I live in some condos about 3 miles away from where the locomotive made its appearance and when I got out of my truck I heard the loco honk his horn and wow, not only loud which is expected, but it was still louder than others in that area but it sounded like a simulated train horn…
I say simulated train horn in the sence of what police or fire (and myself) use as a simulated air horn on their siren controllers. It sounds like an air horn but is noticeably not the real thing but sounds just as sweet. It has that “simulated” electronic sound. I guess my question is do they make a “simulated train horn” for trains?
Any information is appreciated as I really like how it sounded and will go to the ends of the earth to get my hands on one if its possible to power it using any normal voltage.
