Train horn saluting from a large train gathering…
I don’t know a whole lot about trains, just enough to know when to time trips to the local line to get some pics with my DSLR. But every year there are a couple different gatherings in Spencer, NC…to celebrate the history of trains in some sort of way. This weekend there is a big gathering of streamlined engines…lots of cool older heritage units. The biggest feature there is a streamline steam…known as “611”. It was towed down to the facility for the show, and actually starts a fresh restoration next week. Solid chance I’ll see it come through my town, I can’t wait for the chance to get pics/video of that thing.
