Has anyone tried to fight you or get into road rage with you after scaring them with your horns? Or has anyone tried to mess with your vehicle or throw something at it after?
Kinda curious, because I can’t help but notice how nervous I am before I honk, due to the fact that there may be cops around me, or “tough guys” tryna fade lol.
Is it just because I’m new to the whole thing or what?
Also I have my horns zip tied under my truck. Is that safe or will they get stolen?..maybe I should get a small kryponite lock for them.
I was a bit nervous when I first started which hasn’t been that long ago because I didn’t know how people would react. I still am at tmes, but I’m gettin used to it pretty quick!
I used stainless security bolts to mount mine because I sure the hell don’t wanna leave the bar one night and go to blow them and they’ve “disappeared”! I’ve got way too much money in them to just give them away easily to a thief. I bought the bolts at a local fastener supply house Fastenal. They cost about $12 for 4 of them. $12 isn’t bad for some peace of mind! I also used blue thread locker and lock washers to keep them from backing out while bouncing down the road.
Dan, a kid who owned a k3 on his jeep got paint thrown all over his ride. insurance totaled it and now he has a pretty nice 300z. So yea, poop does happen lol. Just be cautious when honking and where you park afterward lol
here you go we have a security six lobe thats pretty much a torx with a piece added to the center then there is a flat head security style…depending on your application we have machine screws or sheet metal screws…should have a fastenal near your city you can order online or visit in store…the one i work at can next day monday-friday if its not in stock
Well hell there ya go Bryan! Thanks Two1nine! Yeah I stopped by the Fastenal in town. I got the ones that look like a torx with a button in the middle. Note that you’ll need a bit to match that type of head so you can tighten them.
no prob forgot to add that in there about the bit LOL and yeah security screws are the best for a lot of applications sound systems, after market and-ons and such
Thing is I have nothing to really mount em on that’s why I only zip tied… But I’ll prolly re do em… I just wanted to test out different areas and if the horns would respond faster when they are closer to the tank
i get a kick out of
the dummies who
think thay own
both sides of the
road i found one
good blast makes
them think twice
of coming over
on my side lol.
peace
Zack, if that’s the case, send the switch I sent you back, when you have a chance. You should receive a RS label, so just slap it on the box and give it to the driver.
^ DANG Steven. thats nuts. Who carries a brick in their car?.. some people have anger issues. glad it only scratched your car and didnt leave a huge dint.
I have had people follow me, throw stuff at me, chase me, I have had it all done to me and I generally don’t even blow my horn unless the person has cut me off or done something to me. Most of the time when I blow mine they don’t even realize where it even came from, The Corolla is a little stealthy when it comes to that. I love when People lay on there horn then pull up next to me just to flick me off! In those cases I just wait until they get next to me with their window down before I unleash the beast on them. Revenge is the best! The most recent encounter was with an old lady who just would not let off her horn or put down here middle finger until I scared the crap out of her. After she swerved back into her own lane she got on her phone to call the police! HAHA! I guess she thought it was fine for her to blow her horn but I couldn’t blow mine?
I had stopped at one of the local auto parts stores and gave the guys a demonstration toot (well, SEVERAL toots, actually…more like…BLASTS…bwahahahaha!), and as I was leaving a guy with a baseball bat tucked under his arm was coming down the alley with blood in his eye…“Knock that s*** off!!!” was his comment to me as I drove past…so it happens.
Damn if someone threw a brick at me, its on! i would have followed him and beat his oven!! you get scared u get scared no big ****in deal…but to do physical damage to something thats ****ed up…
Just remember the 6-6-60 rule and you should be fine…
No less than 6 blocks from your house
Noone under the age of 6
Noone over the age of 60
I believe someone else here said that, and I use it… I am the only person in my little city that has these horns… well… except for my buddy who drives a '92 honda civic ex (I think that’s what it is)…
