So i fnally spent some time and chased down my leaks. So far I have gone 2 days without the compressor kicking on (except for after honking). Before my compressor would kick on about every 2hrs If the ignition was on. now It seems to be holding pritty steady at 140psi. I’m excited! lol
Congrats, where were the leaks?
1 at the shocker valve. 1 at the tank to watertrap, and one at the tank to my air chuck outlet.
yayy for no leaks!
i recently tightened all ports too.
its a good feeling
Ive been leak free for a while now that i switched to the good brand and not store brands… those always tend to leak
FTW
Just an FYI - to NOT overtighten leader hoses on compressors.
If you crack the head, you will have to replace the head of the compressor.
Also, Loctite 545 for sealant. - Good stuff, and it won’t increase the size of the threads which can expand/crack fittings when you install a tapered NPT fitting into a straight fitting.
X2 on overtightening & Loctite 545!
I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are not right. I am assured. Let’s discuss it.
you overtighten a fitting and crack the head it’s non warranty.
teflon tape may work ok but it can cause problems and i’ve never heard anyone complain about Loctite.
what exactly needs dicussing?
oh BTW, welcome to the forum!
Who is not right?
You do realize you’re talking to people who manufacture compressors, right? Just trying to be of assistance…
